Batman: The Animated Series became a new spearhead for DC Comics to deliver interesting animated proposals with series that since 1992 have garnered millions of viewers around the world.
Check out some of the DC Comics animated series that have conquered fans of all ages, from the little ones in the house to the faithful readers of the stories of the DC Universe.
Super Powers Team: The Galactic Guardians
The last season in which Hanna Barbera produced an animated series based on the DC Comics characters was Super Powers Team: The Galactic Guards, known in Latin America as the Superfriends or The Superpowered Team: The Galactic Guardians.
This last season presented us with stories like The Death of Superman, which would come true in less than ten years, as well as Fear, where it is explained for the first time in an animated series.
Teen Titans Go!
One of the animated series aimed at the little ones in the house became one of the funniest and most irreverent animations in the DC Comics library, since the team led by Robin did not miss the slightest opportunity to make fun of everyone.
Focused more on comedy, Teen Titans Go presents us with a fresh vision of one of the most powerful teams in the DC Universe, which “leaves no puppet without a head” and can include both Zack Snyder and the legendary Stan Lee.
batwheels
A new proposal for the little ones in the house comes to the DC Universe with Batwheels, Batman’s team of vehicles commanded by Bam, who commands a team made up of Buff, Bibi, Batwing and Redbird.
The objective of this animated series, beyond the adventure, is teamwork and the message that regardless of our differences, we can all achieve a common goal.
Young Justice
On Earth 16, alongside The Justice League, a group of teenage heroes led by Robin, Superboy and Batgirl join forces to fight for Justice, in a series that has evolved over the seasons.
Young Justice was broadcast for two seasons through the Cartoon Network chain, between 2010 and 2013, and as of 2018 the last two seasons were broadcast on digital platforms, where the characters addressed LGBT themes.
teen titans
In 2003, after the success that Justice League brought to Warner Bros. Animation, the production of another of DC’s most important teams was planned, in the case of Teen Titans.
Inspired by the lineup of Marv Wolfman’s The New Teen Titans, the team of Robin, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy ran for five seasons, in a series that mixed DC action with anime-style animation.
Green Lantern
DC Comics and Warner Bros. projected 2011 as the year of Green Lantern, and in addition to the film starring Ryan Reynolds, a series made with CGI animation was made where the characters from the Emerald mythology were introduced.
The series, under the production of Bruce Timm, received positive reviews, but the allusive merchandise did not generate enough funds to produce a second season.
Superman: The Animated Series
After the success of the Batman animated series, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini explored the story of Superman, in an Art Deco style, and in which Warner Bros. Animation also introduced other characters such as Green Lantern, Flash and villains such as Brainiac, Wolf, Bizarro, Lex Luthor and Darkseid.
Batman Beyond
In a dystopian future, Bruce Wayne continues his fight for justice in Gotham, but this will lead him to mentor Terry McGinnis, who will lead a new era in Batman history on the streets of the chaotic city.
Voiced by the legendary Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne, and introducing new elements to the Dark Knight mythology, Batman Beyond became a hit on the small screen.
Justice League / Justice League Unlimited
Another of Bruce Timm’s great achievements as a creative is Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, two animated series that managed to bring together the greatest heroes of the DC Universe, led by Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman.
Chapters that balanced emotion, action and adventure, Justice League was the gateway for new generations of fans to the DC Universe.
Batman: The Animated Series
Without a doubt, one of the most acclaimed animated series of all time is Batman: The Animated Series, a project that innovated the way of producing a program for DC Comics.
With an unforgettable voice cast, astonishing stories, and unmistakable animation style, Batman: The Animated Series became one of the shows that have stood the test of time.
