The spring anime season is hitting its last gasps, and just in time to kick off summer comes the new anime of ‘Bastard!!!’ (‘Bastard!!: Ankoku no Hakaishin‘) to Netflix.
This same month the series premieres on the platform, and to warm up engines a new promotional poster has been revealed and the number of episodes has been confirmed.

‘Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy’ It already had an anime adaptation in the early 1990s with six direct-to-video episodes. The new series that will premiere on Netflix next June 30th It serves as a reboot to the series and at first it seems that it seeks to adapt the manga of Kazushi Hagiwara in a way closer to the original material.
The good thing is that this new series will have more time to develop the story and (hopefully) a good pace to do it, since it has been confirmed that in total it will consist of 24 episodes. The first 13 chapters will be released this month as planned and the rest of the series would initially arrive on the platform during 2022, although the premiere window has not yet been confirmed.
We were able to see a first teaser a few months ago, but with the premiere of the first batch of chapters so close, Netflix can surprise us with a new trailer at any time. We will have to cross our fingers to see if something falls during the Netflix Geek Weekbut in the meantime what has been revealed is a new poster for ‘Bastard!!’ to introduce us to the protagonists.

The anime series is produced from Liden Films (‘Tokyo Revengers’) and directed by Takaharu Ozaki. ‘Bastard!!’ transports us to Metallicana, where the high priest and his daughter see no other option to save the kingdom from a terrible war than to wake up dark schenidera powerful and ambitious sorcerer whose soul had been imprisoned in the body of a child.
