The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
A year after announcing that they were working on the prequel to the story starring Kartniss Eeverdeen, Lionsgate studios have shared the first trailer for ‘Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’.
The film will be released on November 17, it is directed by Francis Lawrence, the director of the last three Hunger Games films.
What is The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents about?
The film is based on the novel of the same name, written by Suzanne Collins, who has also been involved in writing the screenplay.
The official synopsis reads:
It is the morning of the harvest that will begin the tenth Hunger Games. At the Capitol, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow prepares for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: glory as a Games mentor.
The once-influential House of Snow is falling on hard times, and its fate depends on Coriolanus managing to outwit his peers in wit, strategy, and charm as a mentor to his tribute. Everything is against you. They have humiliated him by assigning him to the District 12 tribute.
Cast of The Hunger Games prequel
Actor Tom Blyth will be in charge of giving life to the young Snow, Rachel Zegler will play Lucy Gray Baird, the tribute from District 12.
The film will also feature top-tier actors including: Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom, Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow, Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth, Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius Flickerman, and Viola Davis as Dr. Volumnia Gul.
