All the images have been removed from their social networks and the firm founded by Cristobal Balenciaga issued a statement in this regard:
“We sincerely apologize for any offense our holiday campaign may have caused. Our stuffed bags should not have appeared with children in this campaign,” says the letter from the fashion firm.
“We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms,” he explains.
”We apologize for showing disturbing documents in our campaign. We take this matter very seriously and are going to take legal action against the parties responsible for the creation of the set and the inclusion of unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photo shoot,” condemns the fashion firm in its release.
“We strongly condemn the abuse of children in any of its forms. We stand up for the safety and well-being of children,” he concludes.
It is not the first time that Balenciaga has drawn attention for controversial decisions, although this intensified with the arrival of Gvasalia. In 2021, the look of Kim Kardashian at the MET Gala 2021 is remembered, on that occasion the celebrity appeared covered in an outfit based on the Ikea bag. The designer’s work has not gone unnoticed, as it has been revered by some in the fashion world, almost like a genius, and reviled by others.
