Luckily, there is life beyond Telecinco’s realities and not everything is endless galas, advertisements galore and people on set debating for hours about something until exhaustion. ‘Fboy Island’ is the perfect example of reality mamarracho that knows what is going and take the opportunity to exploit its premise in the funniest way and, sometimes, he doesn’t even take himself seriously.
Three girls, 24 suitors, half are good guys and half are bad guys. Who tells the truth and who lies? We are going to review some of the funniest moments of this reality show that is more engaging than The Island of Temptations and whose first season you have on HBO Max.
compulsive liar
Although, at first, we do not know who are the bad guys and who are the good guys, there are already certain characters about whom we have certain suspicions. Starting with Garrett, a guy who shows off in interviews “making girls feel safe so they open up to him.” And, of course, when he later tells Sarah that he was adopted in Russia and has a deaf sister Well, very reliable, it doesn’t sound like it.
The Red Flags
One of the funniest moments is when the girls identify hints that a contestant may be a bad boy. The thing ranges from being a club promoter, fear of commitment, food fetish or being a Bitcoin investor. Without forget the emergency word for when a guy gets too heavy: Pterodactyl!
CJ to fall off a donkey
Poor CJ is the contestant who has eaten the most insults throughout the season. Between Devij ripping her off, saying she’s a spoiled brat who hasn’t read a book in her life, and Casey throwing a tantrum, accusing her of “not deserving any of the boys” and calling her anything but pretty… The poor thing has to put up with hers.
bad boys in therapy
Another of the star moments is in Limbro (or Purgatory), the place where the eliminated bad guys end up (while the good guys enjoy a relaxing beauty session). Nikki submits them to a fun therapy: “Is this your first time talking to a girl you don’t want to fuck?” she asks them. She also joins them at their bad boy support group, where they hope to rehab: “The lack of sex is affecting me” someone laments.
This house was a wreck
Casey is one of CJ’s favorite suitors, but she can’t make up her mind because all signs tell her he’s a bad boy (never trust someone who gets their own name tattooed). This is how he sums it up: “You are like a house in ruins. You look at it and think: What a shit home. But when you throw it away and put Ikea furniture on it, well, it’s much better. I’m worried that you’re a bad boy and I have to reform you“.
“Ryan In Peace”
In the early episodes, the show’s first and only casualty occurs: Ryan has had to leave the contest due to an accident. Ryan? What Ryan? Not even the contestants themselves remember him until they see a montage of several shots in which he appears in the background. “Oh yeah… that one.”
colleagues love
Whether the relationships that emerged on the show came to fruition after all, we don’t know that anymore, but we do there is a true love story in this edition: that of Casey and Garrett. The two hit it off like a charm, to the point where Casey risked her relationship with CJ by giving her a hard time about what colleagues they were. Garrett even proposed to Casey that they move in together after the show. Then things went smooth…
bath of humility
Another surreal moment is the test in which the boys sit under a bucket of waterthe girls ask them a question, and if they don’t like the answer, they can pull the rope and give them a soak. Among those who cracked the most were Greg for cheating in the game of ‘Fuck, Marry, Kill’, OG Jared for giving the “simplest answer” and Fernando for not knowing what a good foreplay is.
Assembly of “Mansplaining”
We cannot finish without the mythical assembly in which all the eliminated boys give their opinion about the ones that remain, at which point dirty rags fly from one place to another. What if Garrett says that Sarah wanted to “punch up” and would have to put on fake boobs, what if Casey called CJ a “luxury escort”, what if Jared has any number of girls lining up when he gets out of the pageant… least, they take it with humor.
