The Australian briefly thanked the hundreds of fans who gathered on Sydney’s Cronulla Beach for one of the short food and drink breaks allowed, before heading back out to sea to try to make it to 40 hours.
“I still have work to do. I said 40 so I’ll go and try“, he told the press. “I’m pretty exhausted, yes, but I’m going to push,” he added.
Since the challenge began early Thursday he has surfed an estimated 500+ waves. At night spotlights were turned on to illuminate the waters.
