Although the Bat-Signal is one of the effective methods of summoning Batman, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson pointed out that other ways of summoning the Dark Knight are more effective.
In the DC comics, as well as in various movies, the Bat-Signal is one of the most effective means by which Jim Gordon communicates with Batman, but according to astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, it is even more useful as a beeper.

In the comics, the Bat-Signal debuted in the pages of Detective Comics #60. This device is a specially modified searchlight with a stylized emblem attached to the light, which allows it to project a large bat symbol into the skies of Gotham City.
However, in reality this call would be impossible, something that deGrasse Tyson pointed out in a tweet that has caused different reactions among fans.
Just occurred to me: The famous Bat-Signal that summons Batman’s crime-fighting skills works only on cloudy nights — and never in the daytime. Seems to me, a bat emoji sent to Bruce Wayne’s smart phone or even an old fashioned beeper would improve on this. pic.twitter.com/APfyigCnwQ

What Neil deGrasse Tyson says in his tweet is supported by science. In real life, the operation of the bat signal is practically impossible, since it is not only about getting a reflector and placing the Bat logo on it.
To get the Batman logo to shine in the sky, certain conditions must be met, such as being at night (in the day it does not work even for family reminders), having a sky full of clouds and that there is a certain fog so that it is visible Batman’s call.
