In the midst of an analysis of the DC Comics projects, Warner Bros. Discovery authorized the development of the Arkham Asylum and Penguin series, both spin-offs of The Batman by Matt Reeves
After the cancellation of Batgirl by Warner Bros. Discovery, some DC Comics projects are still under analysis by the team headed by David Zaslav, who has given the green light to other series, such as The Batman spin-off series, focused on at Penguin and Arkham Asylum.

After the success of The Batman at the box office, the team led by Matt Reeves presented two spin-off series that would expand this “Batverse”. One series will focus on the rise in the underworld of Oswald Cobblepot, better known as Penguin, starring Colin Farrell and written by Lauren LeFranc.
While the second series is Arkham Asylum, of which details of its plot and who will be the protagonists are unknown, but it will be located in this Batman universe, where Robert Pattison will be the defender of Gotham City.
The Universe of The Batman expands
According to a report published by Variety, David Zaslav authorized these projects to continue their work, so these series derived from The Batman would be contemplated to be released on digital platforms.
“We try to focus on what happens in the world of Arkham and some of its characters. It would be kind of a horror with the haunted house represented by Arkham. As much as Gotham is kind of a character in the movie, I wish the same thing happened with Arkham.”.
In recent weeks Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, and executive producer of Arkham Asylum and Penguin, signed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros, though the studio has yet to (officially) greenlight The Batman 2.
Only one of the projects in which Matt Reeves is involved as a producer was put on hold, such as the animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, which would reach a different digital platform if there were any interested parties for the rights to this project.
