In 1998 Antonio Banderas starred in the blockbuster “The mask of Zorro”which had a sequel in 2005. Now much has been said about a third film in the saga, but he has an actor in mind to “give him the baton” of the character and play him in future projects.
In an interview with Comic Book Banderas commented that the British Tom Holland seems ideal for the role: “I worked with him on the film “Uncharted”. He’s got a lot of energy and he’s fun, with that spark. Why not? Well, if they called me to do Zorro, I would do what Anthony Hopkins He did initially for me, which is to pass the torch to someone else.”
So far there has been no confirmation as to producing a third film about the sword-wielding hero, but the director Quentin Tarantino expressed interest in having Banderas play the character in a film that would unite “El Zorro” with “Django Freeman,” the protagonist of the 2012 film. django unchained.
