- In case the headline doesn’t make it clear enough, this article contains spoilers for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, so stop reading if you want to be a virgin to the movie.
After a Phase 4 whose general tone was little less than disappointing —if we remove the “little less” nothing happens either—, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has begun to put the meat on the spit to dive into the thick of the Multiverse Saga with ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’; a feature film that seems to be polarizing even more if possible the opinion of its viewers.
As far as I’m concerned, Scott Lang’s new adventure—and family—has managed to regain most of the interest lost in Kevin Feige’s macro-project thanks to its sense of adventure, its distinctive setting in the quantum realm, and a capacity for amusement that seemed to have been lost in the last couple of years of presentations and syncopated narratives.
But today we are not going to talk about Peyton Reed’s feature film again, but about the content of its two post-credit scenes. A duo of pieces that, as usual, they look to the future of the MCU and link to its upcoming productions. Let’s explain how.
Me, myself and Kang
The first post-credits scene ties directly to the end of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’. After a fierce fight —and much more physical than what we are used to, everything is said—, Scott manages to end the Kang variant that ruled the quantum realm using the ship’s battery that allowed the villain to travel through time and the multiverses. But, as expected, the thing will not end here.
In various interactions between Kang and Scott, the conquistador warns Ant-Man that, if he kills him and doesn’t help him escape the quantum realm, many others like him will turn the multiverse upside down.. Lang ignores the tyrant’s warnings and decides to fight for his family to return to Earth safely. But in a corner of the marvelite macrocosm something is cooking…
Once the credits sequence is finished we can see three Kang variants; specifically Immortus, the Scarlet Centurion and Rama-Tut. The versions comment on the death of the Kang of ‘Quantumania’ and reveal that they have organized their own army, known as the Council of Kangs —which in the comics ends up like the rosary of the dawn— allowing us to take a look at an infinite number of variants that could be decisive in ‘Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’.
hunting variants

The second post-credit scene of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ serves as a teaser for the second season of ‘Loki’; no more no less. In it, set in what appears to be the early 20th century, a variant of Kang appears on a stage promising the audience the reveal of a chair capable of time travel. Up to here everything correct. The twist comes in the reverse shot of the respectable.
Among the stalls there are two more than familiar faces. These are none other than those of Loki and Mobius, which heat up the atmosphere ahead of the premiere of the Disney+ series the summer of this same 2023.
