it transpired that Prior to his death, the actor Andrés García worked on shaping a television project referring to what were his nearly five decades of career in the entertainment industry.
It seems that everything indicates that The Dominican ceded the rights to the project to Yolanda Garza, who claims to have been his friend since his youth.
During an interview granted to the television program De primera mano, The production company recalled that at the time the veteran Mexican film heartthrob rejected the Cuban William Levy as a possible interpreterbecause he considered that he did not meet all the necessary attributes.
“It’s real (he didn’t want William Levy). First of all, he told me ‘don’t get ahead of yourself; We have to do a very special casting. You have to check that the actor who is going to play my character, forget that he is handsomeYou must have the same smile that I have. AND that is a good actor. As a director, I’m going to be in charge of directing well who is going to play my character’”, he indicated.
Likewise, Garza mentioned that Andrés García thought of three different actors in front of the camera to show how his career evolved, but something that always made it clear is that he did not wish to see his son Leonardo characterizing him.
“I don’t want to involve anyone from my family in this project. I don’t want problems and don’t tell me again that you love Leonardo García”assures the production company that they have heard the actor who died on April 4 say emphatically.
Yolanda Garza maintains that Andrés García had already finished with the narratives about his life in the cinema, theater and television for a long time, material with which it will be possible to produce a series in which his will to carry out a casting will be respected until he gives with the best performer.
“The story comes from 2020; So, the idea was that he would direct and I would produce. We were very excited, but suddenly the pandemic came. So I came and we worked in the paradise of his house, recording the videos. The last ones I have are from six months ago. We end everything that has to do with his life, with what he wants to be said“, he pointed.
The truth is that the relatives of Andrés García will probably end up initiating a lawsuit to define who owns his inheritance and the rights to his image to market any type of product.
In this sense, the production of any type of bioseries must wait for everything to be clarified.
