We’ve already been through several infamous attempts to bring anime series into the realm of live action. From Hollywood it seems that they do not get tired despite the disappointment that was ‘Dragonball Evolution’, but in the end, as we all always like to imagine What would our favorite characters look like if they were flesh and blood?Well, now a new vein has opened on the internet.
The images generated by artificial intelligence they have given wings to many fans, who are already imagining what some anime would be like in other styles or if they were live action movies. And of course, ‘Dragon Ball’ was not going to get away and has already had its own generated images… although the result is not always the best.
With filming in the desert included
The images have been generated by floating point art via Midjourney, an AI program with which users can enter textual descriptions as the basis for images. To begin with, some images must be said to look quite good and give us a bulma, goku and other characters with a very interesting recreation… But some of the results are also quite creepy.
It would be nice to know what prompts exactly have been used to create these images, because it gives the feeling that Goku is a kind of middle-aged Clint Eastwood with extreme muscles in some of the recreations.
With this type of program, the names of certain actors or directors can also be added to the descriptions to achieve a specific aesthetic. So even if it touches the uncanny valley in many of the images, perhaps this result was precisely what its creator was looking for.
What is true is that captures the aesthetics of Akira Toriyama’s series much better than ‘Dragonball Evolution’because from the outset this film would not be cut when it comes to using bright colors or the most characteristic hairstyles of the manga.
Many of the images generated also play with the idea of filming and “behind the scenes” scenes of this fictitious film, although the truth is that the one who comes out best in almost all of them is the Master Roshito which the AIs have definitely gotten the point.
