An American woman made the decision to follow her deported husband to Mexico, because she believes it is the best for her family, since she and her children missed him a lot. She is now a successful content creator (@ _laguerita70) who narrates her adventures from Mexico in her videos.
Although she comments that the Latin American country has challenged her in different ways that she would never have imagined, she does not regret her decision, since her children are growing up happily with their parents together. In addition, after passing the test of adapting to changes, she feels that life is smiling at them now.
We might think that Candice and Fidel’s love story is like a fairy tale, but the truth is that they have faced various obstacles to become the family they are now. For example, the day they got married, the man was in custody, since he was going to be deported for being in the United States illegally and they could only see each other through glass.
Candice mentioned in an interview for The opinion that since he saw Fidel he liked him a lot, since he seemed very attractive and he had a beautiful smile. Later they began to send text messages in Spanish, since she knew a little of the language and also studied it in the Duolingo application.
Almost a year after they became engaged, Candice discovered that she was pregnant and they went to live together, but Fidel’s illegal situation was something that always tormented them. Unfortunately, one day, her worst fear came true. Fidel works in construction and one afternoon while he was transporting tools from one workplace to another, the police detained him along with a co-worker.
My husband could not give them any identification. The police took him into custody and contacted the Immigration and Customs Service. It was as if all the air in the universe had been taken from me. Not know what to do. The police said they stopped him because he thought the tools were being stolen.
Fidel’s situation was not so simple, since he was a repeat offender, since he had already been deported on other occasions. In addition, he had been arrested once for driving under the influence of alcohol and, fearing what could happen to him, he did not appear in court. Obviously, everything got complicated, so when he was deported, Candice made the decision to leave her comfortable life in the United States to follow her husband to a small town in Mexico.
Here we are all like one big family. People help each other. They take care of each other. They greet you all the time. I already have my comadres who invite me to their houses to eat. My husband’s family are very good people, welcoming and genuine. And I love my husband because he’s an incredibly hard-working man, an incredible father, and he loves me unconditionally.
Candice and Fidel have shown that although life can present us with many difficulties, there will always be a way to get ahead, especially when a good attitude is maintained and true love is shared.
