Amazon Studios’ first original series continues his legacy. The company has given the green light to two new spin-offs of ‘Bosch’, the detective fiction starring Titus Welliver. Two extra series that will join season 2 of ‘Bosch: Legacy’ in this expansion of the universe based on the literary saga of Michael Connelly.and
Edgar and Ballard
The first of these spin-offs will follow the Detective Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector), Bosch’s old partner, who will be recruited for an FBI undercover mission in Little Haiti, Miami. There he will be forced to balance his new life with the underworld of the city and his mysterious past. Connelly and Larry Andries are the executive producers.
the other will be starring Renée Ballard, a detective who will be appointed head of the new open case division of the LAPD. She will use the knowledge and methods of her former mentor, Bosch, to solve cases in unconventional ways. She, along with Connelly, Michael Alino and Kendall Sherwood will serve as executive producers.
These new series come in a week with the clear trend of announcing expansions of series universes, with Showtime announcing a handful of projects for both ‘Dexter’ and ‘Billions’. What we do not know if these new series are being prepared for Prime Video or, as in the case of ‘Bosch: Legacy’, for Freevee, the company’s free platform. In any case, in Spain we will surely see it on Prime.
