Viola Davis will once again take the reins of Task Force X as Amanda Waller, who will be the protagonist of a solo series that will reach digital platforms
The mythology of The Suicide Squad will continue to be explored on the small screen, since in addition to the second season of Peacemaker, the second Task Force X project is finally known, and its fearsome leader, Amanda Waller, will be the one to lead this new HBO Max proposal.

The site Deadline reports that only a few small details separate actress Viola Davis to once again play Amanda Waller in a series with a more serious cut compared to Peacemaker.
Viola Davis joined the DC Extended Universe in 2016 as Amanda Waller first in the David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad.
Davis returned to play the Task Force X project manager in The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, in addition to making a brief cameo in Peacemaker.
In January 2022, James Gunn commented that this new project where a character from The Suicide Squad would return to action would be “connected to this universe, but it will not be like Peacemaker with his touch of comedy”.
Amanda Waller debuted in the pages of Legends #1 (November, 1986), and John Ostrander, creator of the character, took her as director of ARGUS and architect of Task Force X, a project better known as Suicide Squad.
