amanda seyfried has won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries for ‘The Dropout’, the series about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, who tried to revolutionize the healthcare industry after dropping out of college and starting a technology company, which hid a scam that no one was able to guess.
The category of best leading actress in a miniseries was close with Seyfried facing Tony Collette for ‘The Staircase’, Julia Garner for ‘Who is Anna?’, Lily James for ‘Pam & Tommy’, Sarah Paulson for ‘The Lewinsky Affair’ and Margaret Qualey for ‘The assistant’.
Seyfred declared when going up to collect the prize: “This is wonderful, I’m calming down. Thank you to the academy, thank you for recognizing me among all these actresses.
