Although there is a great variety of productions in the science fiction genre and films and series on this theme -especially if they are about aliens-, it is very likely that few will achieve the success that it achieved “alf” during the late 80’s and early 90’s. And it is that the series of the beloved “melmaquino” who accidentally came to an American family and became one more member of the Tanners got into the hearts of the fans. Yes! He even had an animated series!
Between 1986 and 1990, over 4 seasons and 102 episodes, “alf“It was quite a phenomenon. His image, his antics, the way the Tanners hid him from their neighbors and the rest of the citizenry so they wouldn’t discover that an alien lived with them and even his fights with the lucky cat are a recurring part of our childhood or youth. How can we forget the song of the asparagus, or the giant cockroach that Alf killed with Kate’s perfume!
Of course, almost 40 years have passed since the premiere of “alf“, for which its protagonists are passing adulthood. And there were even 3 of the great protagonists who, unfortunately, have already passed away. That is why we remember them -and honor them- in this article. And, by the way, we recommend that you review all their episodes (or discover them, in any case) on HBO Max.
Three protagonists of “Alf” who died
-
Max Wright/”Willie” Tanner
Max Wright, a name that we surely remember and know by heart since every time the intro of “alph”was the first actor to be presented (and a voiceover said his name) died on June 26, 2019 in New Jersey (United States) at the age of 75.
-
John LaMotta/Trevor Ochmonek
How can we forget Trevor Ochmonek in “alph”! He was that neighbor that, generally, nobody wants to have. Nosy, braggart and even a bit rude. But, in his way, he was a very likable character. Who gave life to him was the actor John LaMotta, who passed away on January 29, 2014. He was also 75 years old.
-
Liz Sheridan/Raquel Ochmonek
Raque Ochmonek was Trevor’s wife in fiction, so she was also a neighbor of alf and the Tanners. She was also a bit of a nosy, if adorable, neighbor.
Liz Sheridan was the one who played her, and she passed away on April 15, 2022 at the age of 93. She also took great importance for her participation in “Seinfeld”.
