Alexander Fernandez continues to establish himself as one of the most successful Mexican singers of recent years. Given this, he took advantage of his social networks to announce that it will be this Saturday when he sings during the entrance of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in his fight against Gennady Golovkin.
“This weekend is about coming together to celebrate Mexico, our culture, our music and our sports icons. It is an honor to accompany my friend Canelo as he makes history tomorrow”Fernández wrote on Friday in the publication that he accompanied with an image of the event.
However, the song that “El Potrillo” will perform is unknown, however, it promises to be a great show, just as it is every time the man from Guadalajara gets into the ring, like the previous occasions with Fher de Maná and the Aguilar family.
This Friday, September 16 around 3:25 p.m., Canelo Álvarez came out to the weigh-in ceremony prior to his fight against Golovkin to the rhythm of the emblematic song “I’m still the king” and accompanied by Beto Sierra and C-Kan. The public present outside the Arena witnessed how the Mexican complied with 167.4 pounds; while the Kazakh weighed 167.8.
The rivalry between the Mexican boxer and the one born in Kazakhstan began on September 16, 2017 when they faced each other at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In that epic combat the judges determined that it ended in a draw.
In 2018, “Canelo” Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin saw each other again, but now on September 15. After a strong exchange of blows, the judges decided to give the victory to the “Pride of Guadalajara” by unanimous decision.
Four years after his last fight, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez will face Gennady Golovkin for the third time in search of putting an end to one of the strongest rivalries in recent years in boxing.
