“It is a way to celebrate the honor and achievements of the Hispanic community as a fundamental part of the history of the United States, with a flag that was hung in the Capitol“, with these words engraved on a diploma letterheaded by the Congress of the Nation, Alan Tacher, Raúl González, Elyangélica González, and Oly García, from Caramelos Design, among the 40 Hispanics, were recognized in Washington for their contribution to the country.
As part of the month dedicated to Hispanic Heritagean emotional ceremony was held at the Capitol in Washington. The bookstore room was filled with different Hispanic accentsmostly Venezuelans, who were nominated this year by the Multicultural Association of Voice and Expression Activists (AMAVEX)so that the congress would take them into account for this recognition that is given annually.
Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz was in charge of delivering the awardsand who, at the time, received the request of the association.
In addition to Raúl González, Alan Tacher, Elyangélica González from ‘Despierta América’ and Oly García from ‘Caramelos Desing’; Erika de La Vega, David ‘Comedy’, Eduardo Ortiz, Luis Chataing, were other of the 40 nominated by the association, and recognized by Congress.
Each received their recognition in diploma, and a flag of the United States, which was once flown in the Capitol. “It was a wonderful, exciting experience, a moment we will never forget,” Raúl González shared on ‘Despierta América’ the day after the recognition.
“They are one of those things that you never expect, and when they arrive you realize that we come to this world to help others… I promise to continue working so that our Hispanic community continues to be an unstoppable force in the history of this nation,” he said. Alan Thatcher.
“Representing Hispanic Heritage in this country was not even in my wildest dreams. I arrived 8 years ago thinking of saving my children’s livesIt was my only mission. My project grew in this, the country of opportunities, because we did not come to do small things but to do big things with the premise of neither asking nor taking away, but rather giving everything we have, for ourselves, for ours and in gratitude”, said Oly García of Caramelos Design.
Every day there are more Hispanics within the United States, who exalt the country with work, contribute with their knowledge, and help their peers and, above all, the country. who welcomed them with open arms to give them and their families a better future. Congratulations to all.
