We analyze in Cinemascomics the DVD of the complete series of Akudama Drivea series of total action cyberpunk style
At Cinemascomics we have analyzed the domestic edition of the DVD of the Japanese animated series Akudama Drive, in an edition with a rigid cardboard box and three discs containing the 12 episodes of the series, written and directed by Tomohisa Taguchiresponsible for other successful animes like the movie Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
This is an original series from Pierrot studioResponsable of Naruto Y Yuyu Hakusho, in collaboration with creator Katutaka Kodaka, known for Danganronpa. The respect and affection shown by the Spanish distributor Selecta Visión, in relation to the original material, is distilled in small details of the design of the cover and the serigraphy of the discs, trying to add the maximum content, for the enjoyment of the fans of this fast-paced series, which plunges into an alternative and futuristic world in the purest cyberpunk style. The series immerses the viewer in a maelstrom of action, peppered with moments of comedy, intrigue and violence, as we discover who the Akudama are.
Synopsis:
A long time ago ended a bloody war between Kantô and Kansai, which divided the entire world forever. After peace was reached, Kansai ended up subjugated by Kantô and underwent a unique transformation. However, the degeneration of politics and the corruption and negligence of the forces of order has led to the rise of crime, coupled with the disenchantment of the population and the lack of hope, giving rise to a series of criminals known as « Akudama.” Now, the public execution of the most famous of them will cause the Akudama to come together in an unlikely and explosive alliance. Will they know how to work as a team and forget their differences?
The pack with the complete series of Akudama Drive is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray Collector’s Edition in Spainfrom the hand of Select Vision, in an unabridged and uncensored edition. The series is a Japanese production and is available with sound both in the original subtitled version and dubbed into Spanish, both with 2.0 Dolby Digital sound.
This original anime series is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and written by Kazutaka Kodaka (screenplay) and Rui Komatsuzaki (characters), with character design by Cindy H. Yamauchi, based on the original idea by Pierrot and TookyoGames. While Shigekazu Aida and Maiko Iuchi are in charge of the musical composition. The opening theme (opening) of the series is titled ‘STEAL!’ and the closing theme (ending) is titled ‘Ready’.
The first 12 episodes for the first time on Blu-ray and DVD
Episodes 1 to 12 of the series are released for the first time on Blu-Ray and DVD in 16/9 format, with audio in Spanish and Japanese 2.0 Dolby Digital, as well as subtitles in Spanish. The series is recommended for ages 12 and up and lasts approximately 300 minutes. The three discs have the logo of the series silk-screened, written in Japanese in orange and with a black background for each DVD. In turn, the cover is reversible and contains the list of the twelve episodes, to give prominence to all the protagonists and to be able to choose who stands out above the others.
The three DVDs are divided into three boxs, with reversible covers, starring the Swindler and the Messenger on one side and the Fighter on the other cover. In both covers of Volume 1 the title, the summary of the argument and a frame of episodes 1 to 4 are exposed.
The second DVD features the Hacker and the Doctor on the covers, with chapters 5 to 8 of Volume 2, indicating in the same way the title, the summary and an image of said episodes. The third DVD features Thug and Killer as the protagonists on each of the covers, showing the title, synopsis, and a highlight frame from episodes 9 through 12.
The discs are protected by an outer rigid cardboard box, where the 7 protagonists and the black cat on its cover appear in this container box. While on the back cover, Assassin stands out along with different images of the series, together with a description of the plot of the series and the technical characteristics of the anime.
