An interesting theory could unite the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and the universe of The Batman that Matt Reeves builds, and their connecting element would be Martha Wayne, turned into Joker
They say that the opportunity is painted bald, and unfortunately the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was able to incorporate Flashpoint’s Joker with Martha Wayne, if both the DCEU and Matt Reeves’ Batman universe crossed paths at some point.
Don’t Miss: Mystery Unveiled! DC Comics confirms that the Joker’s name is…
Recall that in the alternative universe of Flashpoint that writer Geoff Johns introduced us to in 2011, Bruce Wayne dies in the Crime Alley assault, and his parents survive, but Martha Wayne looks bad psychologically, which makes her the Joker.
From the DCEU’s Martha to the Batverse’s
In The Batman, a film directed by Matt Reeves, it is revealed that Martha Wayne, who was Martha Arkham before she married, also experiences a traumatic event, when her mother shot her father to death, which led her to be hospitalized in Arkham State Hospital.
These facts were sought to be brought to light by a journalist, but Thomas Wayne wanted to avoid it at all costs, which led him to ask Carmine Falcone for a favor, who ordered the murder of this journalist.
In the DCEU, the name of Martha Wayne represents for Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) one of his main reasons for undertaking the fight against crime and corruption in Gotham.
In Batman v Superman his name was the subject of one of the most commented scenes of Zack Snyder’s film.
How would Martha Wayne as Joker bring these worlds together?
In The Flash, a film that will arrive in 2023, the story directed by Andy Muschietti will adapt the Flashpoint plot, a saga that became a reboot of the DC Universe by giving rise to The New 52.
The script for The Flash will unite the past and present of the DC Universe, featuring Ben Affleck’s version of Batman and the one played by Michael Keaton, who would become a mentor to the DCEU’s heroes.
Although the plot of Christina Hudson could explore more corners of the DC Universe in the cinema and could take this element in a Flashpoint universe, this means that a Martha Wayne Joker exists and it would take elements from the story of Matt Reeves.
With the script by Christina Hodson, The Flash will be directed by Argentine filmmaker Andrés Muschetti and will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / Flash, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, both as Bruce Wayne / Batman.
The Flash will hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
