A new shark thriller has appeared out of nowhere with director Adrian Grunberg (‘Rambo: Last Blood’) and it’s not ‘The Meg 2′, in fact,’The Black Demon‘ has been ahead of the long-awaited sequel, planned for August, and It will hit theaters on April 28., and with the actor Josh Lucas as the main advertising claim in addition to a great megalodon shark, of course. Now there’s a trailer showing a full-fledged blockbuster with a giant animal.
Based on a Mexican legend
‘The Black Demon’ is the first feature film writing credit for Boise Esquerra. The story begins when oil tanker Paul Sturges takes his family on vacation to Bahía Azul. There, the seaside town he and his wife used to know has mysteriously collapsed, and the locals are nowhere to be found. Paul starts the day with a routine visit to inspect his nearby oil rig, but before he knows it, his entire family has landed with him on the rotting metal tower.
From the depths of the ocean rises a massive megalodon known only by name: the Black Demon. Under constant threat from this primitive species of shark, Paul must find a way to get his family to shore alive while the explosive charges that will bring down the rig are underway. A kind of extended version of ‘Blue Hell’, in which there is only one escape route and a shark covering it. The black demon is a Mexican legend that has given fiction such as the comic ‘Black Demon Tales’.

Lucas joins a cast with Fernanda Urrejola, Venus Ariel, Julio Cesar Cedillo, Jorge A. Jiménez, Héctor Jiménez, Raúl Méndez, Edgar Flores and Carlos Solórzano. ‘The Black Demon’ was produced by Javier Chapa, Jon Silk and Petr Já. The film has been defined as “a survival thriller that offers a new take on the legendary deep-sea predator.” There is no release date in Spain yet.
