It is one of the most anticipated movies from the moment the MCU was founded, and Kevin Feige doesn’t want to tell everything about ‘Fantastic Four’ right off the bat. That is why it doses the information: we still do not know the actors or who will be directing after the departure of Jon Watts from the project, but we do have a release date: on November 8, 2024. There’s still a little bit left.
It’s been told before
Feige, in a chat with THR, has given a crucial detail for the film: It won’t be an origin storyjust like what happened with ‘Spiderman Homecoming’.
A lot of people know this origin story, a lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and do something they’ve never seen before? We’ve set the bar very high for ourselves by bringing this to the screen.
None of the three film versions of the First Family have been very convincing so far. In fact, it is possible that the most faithful adaptation was, precisely, the one that was canceled and that you can see in the wonderful documentary ‘Doomed!’. After the fiasco of ‘Fant4stic’, the film that practically ended the hitherto promising career of Josh Trank, marvel has it hard to convince people that nine years earlier was just a mirage.
Let’s remember that before ‘Fantastic Four’ we have all phase 5 in full, which will resolve many of the doubts we may have about the UCM. It’s very probable that let’s know more about the project in the next D23, from September 9 to 11: It’s time for cake!
