Morgan Nevillethe winning director of the oscar in 2014 for the tape “20 feet from stardom”announced that he is already working on a documentary about the British singer Paul MCCARTNEYwhich will be titled “Man on the run” and that it will present interviews and archival material never before exhibited.
The film will focus on McCartney’s life since the breakup of the group the Beatleshis successful solo career, his albums with the band wings and his relationship with his wife Linda McCartneywho passed away in 1998. The companies Polygram and mpl produce the project and it is expected that it will be released in theaters some time before it is available on any platform streaming.
Morgan Neville has declared himself a big fan of McCartney, and that was what led him to accept the proposal to direct “Man on the run”: “I was too young to buy Beatles records when they came out, but I could buy Wings records and I loved them. To me, the story of what happened to Paul in the aftermath of The Beatles when he had to rediscover himself is the story that has never been told. When Universal called me, it took me about three seconds to say that he had to do this. It’s the kind of thing I think I’ve been training for since he was 10 years old.”
