A piece of news that will delight collectors and potterheads is that the British Royal Mint (The Royal Mint) has announced that it will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of harry potter and the Philosopher’s Stone minting a series of magical coins.
Since JK Rowling published the first book of the saga in 1997, they have not stopped adding in all parts of the world the fans of this wonderful story, managing to turn it into a phenomenon, since it is considered an important part of the popular culture of our times and of literature in general.
If you’re fan of this work, you can not miss acquiring any of the four uncirculated coins corresponding to the Brilliant Collection of Harry Potter 2022 United Kingdom of 50 pence. The coins have a portrait of the protagonist of the series, designed by Jim Kay, who illustrated the first edition of the first book in the series, and FFion Gwillim.
Select editions of the coin include a special design feature that displays a lightning bolt and the number 25 when the coin is moved. The four-coin collection will feature minted portraits of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Her Majesty King Charles III.
But how much would you have to pay to get them? Coin prices range from £11 ($12.39) for an uncirculated magical 50p coin to £5,215 ($5.87) for a £200 denomination Harry Potter super gold coin. Additionally, a 50p color version of Harry Potter is available for £20, or $22.52.
Nicola Howell, Commercial Director of The Royal Mint, spoke about how happy they are to launch this collection, which will also include coins alluding to the Hogwarts Express, Professor Albus Dumbledore and Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
