With the second season of the series The Sandman, Neil Gaiman confirmed that the youngest of Morpheus’ brothers, Delirio, will also arrive.
After weeks of uncertainty, it has finally been confirmed that The Sandman will have a second season, and with these new chapters we will finally get to know the live-action version of one of the Eternals that we did not see in the first season, Delirio.
Do not miss: Official! The Sandman will have a second season
The first 11 episodes adapted arcs like Preludes and Nocturnes, and The Doll’s House, but the new episodes, in addition to bringing Dreamland and Season of Fog, could have the debut of one of the most anticipated Eternals, Delirium.
Through his tumblr account, Neil Gaiman confirmed to one of his fans that once the second season was announced, he began the search for the actress to play Delirio, although he did not specify the characteristics he is looking for for his interpreter.
Not yet. We were only officially confirmed this week… However, I really want to cast (an actress to play) Delirium.
Debuting in The Sandman issue #1, Delirio is the youngest Eternal with a variable temperament and an almost chaotic appearance that constantly changes.
Delirio’s conversations tend to be a sequence of ‘non sequiturs’ that nonetheless manage to get their point across. Her siblings tend to be protective of her and love her more openly than each other.
The Kingdom of dreams and nightmares continues its course
The Sandman follows in the footsteps of Morpheus, the God of sleep, and his impact on the world, as he tries to right the cosmic and human mistakes he made during his existence.
The result is a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend seamlessly intertwine.
The Sandman stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Asim Chaudhry as Abel, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain.
Also starring are Jenna Coleman as Joanna Constantine, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, and Mason Alexander Park as Desire.
Allan Heinberg will write the series, and Neil Gaiman will serve as producer, alongside David S. Goyer, who has participated in projects such as Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight film trilogy.
The Sandman is available through the most famous platform for digital entertainment.
