On June 10, the sixth and final season of ‘Peaky Blinders’ arrived on Netflix, but the truth is that the story will continue with a film already confirmed. That has certainly helped that the series has left several unanswered questions and then we will review the seven most strikingfrom specific aspects of the final episode to other doubts that had been dragging for a long time.
Obviously, from here spoilers for the final season of ‘Peaky Blinders’.
What does Tommy whisper to Duke?
The arrival of Duke Shelby (Conrad Khan) in the sixth season seems like a move designed to pave the future of this criminal clan in the series, hence there is a lot of curiosity about what Tommy whispers to him during the farewell dinner. At first glance, it might seem like a simple farewell message because Tommy thought he was dying, but Duke’s gesture invites speculation.
What becomes of Finn after being kicked out of the Peaky Blinders?
Finn (Harry Kirton) was responsible for the failure of the plan of the fifth season finale and here he falls into a trap set by Duke that leads to the death of the traitorous Billy (Emmett J Scanlan) and with Finn being kicked out of the Shelby family. Finn swears revenge against Duke, but the matter is left open and he remains to see if he is able to function alone.
What about Hayden Stagg?
The most striking signing of the sixth season was that of Stephen Graham to give life to Hayden Stagg, but at the moment of truth his participation has been reduced. As a worker at the Liverpool docks he forms an alliance with Tommy to help the Shelbys with the opium trade. His defiant attitude would probably have ended with him dead in previous seasons, but everything here points to a long-term alliance, since Steven Knightcreator of ‘Peaky Blinders’, has dropped that he could have more presence in the film.
Who the hell is Finn’s wife?
In this sixth season we meet Mary, the woman Finn ends up marrying, although the latter is never shown on screen. Interpreted by Abby Hernwhich we will soon see in ‘Enola Holmes 2’, her character does not have a single line of dialogue, why introduce a character like that and then do nothing with her?
What will become of Gina Gray and Jack Nelson and their plan to kill Tommy?
One might think that his connection to the Shelbys ends with Michael’s death (Finn Cole) at the hands of Tommy, but let’s not forget that they were behind the plot to end the life of the character played by Cillian Murphy. Most likely Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Jack (James Frecheville) want revenge, will we get to see it or will they just disappear for the movie?
What happened to the Billy Boys, Jessie Eden and May Carleton?
The Billy Boys played a pivotal role in the fifth season, ending the life of Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen) impressively, who was unable to complete his revenge at the end of the previous installment. However, in the sixth there has been no sign of them from the band led by Jimmy McCavern (brian gleeson). It is true that there was a time jump of several years, but they had too much weight to ignore them in this way.
Two other conspicuous absences from the final season were those of Jessie Eden (charlie murphy) and May Carleton (Charlotte Riley), two important women in Tommy’s life. Eden was last seen at the end of the fifth season, hinting at a possible return that never materialized. For her part, May last appeared in season four, when she turned down a proposal from Tommy to stay together. Both actresses were willing to return, but Knight did not have her characters again.
How did Johnny know he had to change the car pump?
A pivotal moment of the season finale is when the car Tommy is in doesn’t explode, thus managing to get ahead of Michael, who he executes shortly after. However, how is it possible that Johnny (Packy Lee) find out that you have to change the car pump? Some theory points out that the children out there are their children and that is how they find out what is happening, but that is something that I am not entirely clear on.
