The third season of ‘The Mandalorian’ has already finished, and until the “Mandovero” series returns with the premiere of “Ashoka” this summer right now we have run out of our weekly dose of ‘Star Wars’.
There will be neither Grogu nor Mando, but luckily we have a few series of anime streaming with a bit of science fiction that can give us that taste of the best of the George Lucas universe, especially if what we are looking for are space adventures to keep us hooked on the screen.
Cowboy Bebop
One of the legendary anime series, and that he has earned the position by hand. If what attracts us the most about ‘The Mandalorian’ is the possibility of explore the galaxy with some bounty huntersthis is the series we need.
‘Cowboy Bebop’ follows a group of outcasts who travel through space trying to make a good living. The level of animation and design alone is worth watching, but the individual stories of spike spiegel and the rest of the crew totally absorb you.
‘Knights of Sidonia’
‘Knights of Sidonia’ maybe it has a much darker focus than ‘Star Wars’, but it’s great science fiction story that reflects on the future of humanity and how our lives would be in this future.
After the Earth has been destroyed by an alien race, the human survivors struggle to survive aboard the ship Sidonia. Military service is compulsory, and Nagate Tanikaze he is enlisted just when the Gauna threat has re-emerged after a century.
‘trigun’
Although we now have ‘Trigun Stampede’ to adapt the original manga in a more faithful way, the old ‘Trigun’ it remains a marvel that shines by itself. also cWith a dot that combines Western and science fiction, we have gunmen, bounty hunters and lots of action.
The plot follows Vash Stampedean outlaw known as “the Human Hurricane” because wherever he goes he leaves a trail of chaos and destruction.
‘The Legend of the Galaxy Heroes: The New Thesis’
Although unfortunately the classic series of ‘The legend of the galaxy heroes‘ is not so accessible, a few years ago this new reboot was released by Production IG, which is also a perfect introduction to the science fiction saga.
This intense space opera focuses on the conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance of Free Planets, which have been at odds for 150 years. Have political intrigues, war conflicts, space battlesand many of the tropes that made us fall in love with ‘Star Wars’.
‘Star Wars Visions’
The anthology anime of ‘Star Wars‘ which presents us with several alternative stories inspired by the universe of George Lucas. We’ve got clashing twins, a ronin hunting down Siths, planets invaded by the evil empire, and even a massive concert at Tattooine.
Soon we will have a second season, but in the meantime ‘Star Wars Visions’ has left us a collection of very nice stories full of possibilities that maybe they’ll never ever happen in movie canon, but they leave us wishing they did.
