A new era begins in the history of the Dark Knight with Knightquest – The Crusade, a modern classic that shows us the passage of Jean Paul Valley as Batman
After Bane knocked out Bruce Wayne, Jean Paul Valley was chosen as the new defender of the Batman mantle, but nobody counted that whoever Azrael was had his own agenda, which he develops through Knightquest – The Crusade.
Do not miss: Who is Azrael? Meet the cruel Batman who terrorized Gotham
While Bruce Wayne recovers from the injuries that separated him from his alter ego as the Dark Knight, Valley takes over as Batman so as not to leave Gotham City without the protection of his great protector.
However, demons from Azrael’s past begin to reappear, making Knightquest – The Crusade the start of the path of terror.
Goodbye to the detective facet
Jena Paul Valley distanced himself from Bruce Wayne, and the new Batman will put aside the detective facet, which begins to frighten rivals and even allies.
Valley is not a hero who likes to investigate cases, he prefers to catch villains and in some cases make them suffer until they die (Don’t miss the second volume of this saga)
Bruce Wayne hasn’t fully retired.
As Jean Paul Valley assumes his responsibilities as Batman, Bruce Wayne embarks on a worldwide search for the whereabouts of Dr. Sandra Knightsolving and Jake Drake, father of Tim Drake.
Wayne not only seeks to heal his damaged back after the confrontation with Bane, he also seeks to regain confidence and strength to reclaim the mantle of Batman.
No Robins
While Tim Drake was the one who trained Jean Paul Valley, Azrael knows no gratitude and has made it clear since taking up the mantle of Batman that he is a lone vigilante.
Knightquest will take one of the historical low points of Batman’s relationship with Robin, to the point where the young wonder himself becomes persona non grata in the Batcave.
The hidden face of Jim Gordon
With Jean Paul Valley as Batman, Jim Gordon also begins to care about the abyss of the vices that prevail in Gotham’s security forces.
With the gradual loss of trust with Batman, Gordon begins to show a little-known side as a tough cop.
Great artists in the redesign of the Batman suit
Knightquest – The Crusade became a major event that allowed various artists to contribute to the redesign of the Batman armor worn by Jean Paul Valley.
Graham Nolan, Mike Manley, Jim Balent, Joe Rubinstein, Bob Wiacek, and Frank McLaughlin are just a few illustrators who put their talent to work drawing this new stage in Batman’s history.
