Without more to add, Let’s move on to today’s picks:
‘Assassin’s Creed’ (2016)
Address: Justin Kurzel. Distribution: Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Charlotte Rampling, Michael K. Williams, Javier Gutierrez.
Unfairly beaten at the time of its release, it was not a commercial success either, so we were left without a sequel. Some were probably happy about it, but I was satisfied with what they offered us here. It has visual strength -there you can see that behind the cameras is the same director of ‘Macbeth’, another title that shone at this point-, michael fassbender He is quite convincing in front of the cast and it works for me as a presentation of a universe that I wanted to know more about.
Criticism of ‘Assassin’s Creed’
‘Pokémon: Detective Pikachu’ (2019)
Address:Rob Letterman. Distribution: Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ryan Reynolds, Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Geere, Ken Watanabe and Bill Nighy
A fun adventure that knows how to offer fans of this franchise what they are looking for without neglecting the need to try to reach the rest of the public. It stands out more when it is light and fun and the script may flu in some moments, but it is seen with pleasure and the choice of ryan reynolds to give voice to Pikachu is a success.
Review of ‘Pokémon: Detective Pikachu’
‘Resident Evil’ (2002)
Address: Paul WS Anderson. Distribution: Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Eric Mabius, James Purefoy, Martin Crewes, Colin Salmon
The franchise led by Jovovich mile He left us several vindicable entertainments -although also others that are quite forgettable-, but, obviously, it is best to start with the first, which is also the one with the greatest horror component. It is not that it is repanocha, but beware, that among its fans you can find even the very James Cameronwho did not hesitate to describe it as one of his guilty pleasures.
‘A werewolf among us’ (‘Werewolves Within’, 2021)
Address: Josh Ruben. Distribution: Sam Richardson, Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Michaela Watkins, Glenn Fleshler
A nice horror and mystery comedy in which a small town is attacked by a werewolf coinciding with a snow storm that leaves them isolated. She may not be anywhere near brilliant, but she knows how to be funny when called for and blunt when violence comes to the fore. Ideal for spending an entertaining afternoon without asking the elm for pears.
